“To be fully alive, fully human, and completely awake is to be continually thrown out of the nest.” – Pema Chodron

What I thin Pema is trying to say is that we need to get out of the next and explore. Basically, we need to get out of the comfort zone and start get busier with our life’s. If you are the type of person who is stuck in the comfort zone, remember that you can get out of it anytime you want.

Comfort Zone

If you are living your life in a pattern by repeating same tasks daily, you can change. For example, if you are taking the same road to work, all you have to do is take another direction. Yes, there is nothing wrong with being in the comfort zone, but it is natural to explore more. Many people think that comfort zone leads to a problem, but it is not really true. I would like to point it out that it is fear. To get out of fear you have to do is face the fear. In other words, get out of the comfort zone.

Stuck in a Nest

I like to be the person who is in the nest because I like to be in the comfort zone. Since I think that it’s not healthy being in the comfort zone, I create challenges to break it. I do different tasks and I go to different food spots than my normal. Exploring new restaurants keeps me away from going to the same one over and over again. This type challenges make me feel like an adult and that I’m now out of the nest.

In conclusion, I think Pema is saying if you keep going back into the nest, then keep getting out. Don’t let yourself be stuck in the nest.
