“For me, an area of moral clarity is you’re in front of someone who’s suffering, and you have the tools at your disposal to alleviate that suffering or even eradicate it, and you act.” – Paul Farmer

My Thoughts:

This is telling me one thing: “Be Helpful and provide aide in your best ability.” For example, let’s say you come across a girl who is having anxiety, instead of fleeing from the person, help the person. This is the same with everyone you encounter. Many people are getting sick and more and more as years go by. If you are there and trying to help, you will also receive your reward.

Being Helpful

Being helpful tells a lot about yourself. If you are helpful, you are brave and one step above another. Also, it says about your whole existence from child to current being. A person that runs away and doesn’t help, is a person usually grown up very weakly. Many people use the word coward, but I don’t like to think of it in those terms.

Running away is easier because you don’t have to deal with the situation. However, this means your whole life you been running away from things, you just haven’t realized it. This is why I always say be the person and stand up for yourself and the person who needs help.

Act

I think Paul Farmer is right in terms that we all have the tools in our hands. But it is the wise that uses it wisely and also becomes successful in life. As I like to say, “Why flee, when you can act.” We all have the choice to act, but it is the brave one that does it. Remember to be helpful at all times and don’t run away from something that you can aid to.
