“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.” – James 1:5-6 NIV

For first of all, what exactly is wisdom? According to Dictionary.com it means 5 things:

  1. the quality or state of being wise; knowledge of what is true or right coupled with just judgment as to action; sagacity, discernment, or insight.
  2. scholarly knowledge or learning: the wisdom of the schools.
  3. wise sayings or teachings; precepts.
  4. a wise act or saying.
  5. (Initial capital letter) Douay Bible. Wisdom of Solomon. (a book of the Apocrypha.)

I also want to mention that it is labeled as a Noun. From the 5, the last one is a book of the Apocrypha which it got me very interested to want to learn more about it. In summary, it basically means being wise and moving forward with knowledge.

Go to School

Second, this tell me one thing which is go to school. By going to school you are basically asking God for Knowledge. Some people think God is going to give everything in a free form. But I don’t think it works that way. I think he gives us what we want, but we got to be willing to do it. In other words, if we want wisdom, we got it, but we need to learn it to get it.

It will be Given to You

When it says it will be given to you, but we need to achieve it. We can ask for whatever we want, but we got to be able to receive it when our mind and brains are ready. By being ready we must go to school and get some knowledge.
