As I came across this Pineberries from Costco, my mind was so sure it was a Strawberry instead of Pineberry. I really thought it was strawberry that hasn’t turned red yet. Then at 2nd glance, something in mind said: “If so, how can all boxes be white instead of just 1 or 2?” Thats when I looked closely, and the label said: “Pineberry.” I knew I had to give this a try, so I grabbed 2 which were expensive costing at $4.99 each. However, as expensive as it seems it is nearly the same price of strawberry, so it’s a win for the price as this are rare fruit.

Costco Pineberry

I like to call this very unique fruit because I’ve really never seen them in any stores. As I visited Costco to buy more, they were all sold out very fast.

Taste

As the taste goes, this are different taste in each bite. One may be sweet and the other sour and each one I grab to eat is really unexpected what it’s going to taste like. However, the main taste dominating is white cherry. For some reason I feel like I’m tasting white cherry through these pineberries. Overall, tropical fruits are in my mind and even pineapple or white tomato is in my mind when tasting these fruits. I’m loving the taste as its very unexpected what the next bite is going to be and feels very exotic and tropical.

Shape & Color

It is a no brainer that they are in the same shape of a strawberry. The color is white from inside and out. The color is very important to me because it convinces me that this is not a strawberry, but rather a fruit of its own.

Great Gift

Since these fruits are nowhere to be found and are very rare, I think they make a very nice gift. Someone who receives this as a gift may have possibly never heard or seen these fruits before. So, this is a gift that would be remembered forever.

I recommend trying this Pineberries, but keep in mind they may be sold out. Sometimes I come across them, other times they are all sold out or maybe just not in the season for them.
