“I’ve never forgotten him. Dare I say I miss him?
I do. I miss him. I still see him in my dreams.
They are nightmares mostly, but nightmares tinged with love. Such is the strangeness of the human heart. I still cannot understand how he could abandon me so unceremoniously, without any sort of goodbye, without looking back even once. The pain is like an axe that chops my heart.” – Yann Martel, Life of Pi

This is by far one of my favorite quotes of all times, it reminds me the strength of life. What I like to mention is that animals don’t have the same purpose of imagination as a human would.

When we watch Lion King the Cartoon Version, we understand the movie and feel like we feel the animal. However, when watching Lion King the Movie it’s as if we can’t really feel the animal and that’s because in real life we are not made to understand the animal.

Humans & Animals Don’t Connect One Another

God has created the animals mind in a certain way to function that way. Same to the humans and separation between thoughts have been made for a reason. Therefore, “The pain is like an axe that chops my heart,” it’s not the way the Tiger is made to think or feel, but for the human.

Realistically

This quote is one that is just hard to describe because it means something different to everyone. Tiger is thinking to live and survive, while human is thinking soft thoughts. We can’t think like them, and they can’t think like us, “Such is the strangeness of the human heart.” I always have this quote in thought and helps me to think more bravely. This is the weakness of the human heart, but yet it’s one that makes us so great and above animals.
