“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want… Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me.” – Psalm 23

This by far one of my favorite Bible Phrases, “though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death.” I always remember this in my mind and sometimes randomly it appears in my mind.

However

I think this is the exact way it is: “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” This is the words that go in my mind start with, “Even though.”

Fear

Even though we say, “I will fear no evil,” yet it is extremely harder than it seems. First, it sounds like it’s a piece of cake, but actually not fearing is more challenge than it seems. Second, it is easier to say it, but exact opposite when really the time comes to do it. Why? Because it is clear that it’s easier to be afraid, then it is to be brave. Not fearing, refers to being brave because you are not fearing. However, in real circumstance, it’s not as easy as just saying it in your mind.

for thou art with me

it’s actually, “for you are with me.” I just love that part of this phrase because God is with us. Therefore, we are we afraid to begin with? It is easy to be afraid, that’s why. It takes no effort, no sweat, and no will power to be afraid. To be strong, it takes inner mindset, strong will, real feelings, and those who really are strong are the ones that control this world. Be strong or at least try.
