Swiss Miss Pumpkin Spice Hot Cocoa

This Limited Edition Flavor was absolutely good, I tried this with hot water because I’m trying to limit my milk intake and I was impressed how good it was with hot water. The pumpkin spice flavor was just right amount for 8oz water. I’m not much of a fan of hot chocolate or if you like calling it hot cocoa with hot water, but this came out to be good. I could just imagine how rich of a flavor it will have with hot milk.

I was never really a fan of the company Swiss Miss because before their drinks wasn’t really made healthy. I mean, yes they had some healthy ones but mostly I noticed they were not healthy. But, now I’m seeing this company is doing a lot better, and adding more healthy choices. I’m happy to see it improve with more healthy options such as this pumpkin spice flavor cocoa mix.

on the box it says no artificial:

  • sweeteners
  • preservatives
  • flavors
  • colors

however, I’m not sure if this is 100% natural because on the ingredients section in the side of the box it says, Less than 2% of:

  • salt
  • dipotassium Phosphate
  • mono- And Diglycerides
  • natural flavors

I’m not sure what dipotassium Phosphate or mono- And Diglycerides are, but they sound like chemicals and maybe not healthy for us.

For the rest of the ingredients are as followed:

  • Sugar
  • Corn syrup
  • modified whey
  • cocoa (processed with alkali)
  • Hydrogenated coconut oil
  • nonfat milk

As a whole the ingredients don’t look that bad to me, they definitely have been improved from before. The fact that I tried this and drank this is because the ingredients don’t seem as harsh. However, I only got this to try it, because I know their are hot chocolates out there with less ingredients. Less ingredients and natural is as the way to go in all foods and drinks for our safety.

Swiss Miss Premium Imported Cocoa – Milk Chocolate Flavor

This is the normal flavor as I would like to call it, just a basic hot chocolate. I purchased this from Walmart and what I don’t like about it is that when you look at the box it tries to convince you that its healthy. It tells you that it has no artificial sweeteners, preservatives, flavors, and colors. However, when you look at the full ingredients it has some ingredients that could not have been added. This looks and feels healthy form the outside. But there is more healthier choices out there.

I do not recommend this hot chocolate, but at the same time its not too bad. I mean yes the ingredients could be improved more, but compared to some that are worse, this ain’t so bad. All I could say this is better than the worse out there, but best way to enjoy hot chocolate is to make the ingredients yourself. I mean buying 100% cocoa powder and adding vanilla, real sugar, milk is a good combination.
