“Give whatever you are doing and whoever you are with the gift of your attention.” – Jim Rohn
This quote reminds me of my point to pass to people is to “listen.” Yes, listen when people are talking and act like you are listening and that you are interested. Body language explains everything and when you give your attention it interests the teller even more. It is a way to communicate and works all the time. When someone out there is trying to tell you something, listen as if it’s important and you care.
True Gift
I believe that when your give your attention that is a true gift that you are giving. Often, the person might be talking and getting boring, but if you act interested that is a great gift you have. Besides that, people like to talk as they like to share what they have experienced as part of their life. For example, let’s say you visited Disneyland and had a wonderful time, and you are explaining it to someone. during this explaining process, you are sharing a great time you’ve had. During this time, you expect the person to act as if they are interested just as you were when you experienced it.
At the same time, as you are giving your attention, the other person would give his/her attention too. This way it’s kind of like what goes around, comes back around. But, if you give your attention and the other person doesn’t give its attention, than don’t worry about it. As long as you do your part, that is the most important thing. Don’t worry or care about the other person, you just continue giving your gift of attention to everyone you come across to.
Reminder
Just a reminder for everyone to act like you are interested and giving your attention to everyone you come across too.
