“No pessimist ever discovered the secret of the stars, or sailed to an uncharted land, or opened a new doorway for the human spirit.” – Helen Keller
Well, if you don’t know what a pessimist is, it is basically someone who sees the worst to happen. Someone that believes the worst will happen instead of the best. However, as Helen might have a good point, I kind of think it all depends. I mean in a way I like to be pessimist too. However, I like to think of pessimist point of view along with non-pessimist point of view.
FBI
There is nothing wrong with thinking in worst point of view. Let’s take a look at jobs like police, FBI, or in that field of work. If you are an FBI agent, you may need to look at the worst aspect first before the best. You need to put your mind into the persons mind and see what he/she was thinking.
In Between
I like to think the worst and the best outcome of all aspects. I don’t like to focus on the negatives, but I like to question them and to prove it wrong. I’ll be on the next train thinking about: “what if it crashes.” I’ll be flying in the airplane with thoughts: “what if it crashes.” I’m changing as It goes, but I like to question from worst to best. I see that there is nothing really wrong with that.
Helen is most likely referring to people who just see that bad. This is wrong if you see only the negatives. There is a lot in life, you need to look at the bright side of it. If you only focus on the darkness, your life will be covered in it. Which is why let yourself shine in the light.
