This Shao Mei Brown Sugar Boba Ice Cream Bars from Costco were one that I couldn’t pass by without getting it. The moment I saw this in the freezer, it was an automatic response to pick up these frozen treats and add it to the basket. It was priced for $13.99 for a pack of 10 which came nicely individually wrapped. The wrappers all looked fancy and had all the nutritional information on it which felt very fun looking treats.

Shao Mei Boba Ice Cream

As I was opening the wrapper, I noticed on the wrapper it says: “Ice cream bar,” but on the box it says: “frozen Dessert Bar.” This kind of confused me if this is ice cream of frozen dessert? But I’m going to go more with ice cream as that’s what it felt like.

The Taste

These bars tasted like coffee mocha to me with a bit of caramel taste too. Mainly the mocha taste was dominating, but sometimes I felt like a sensation of caramel too. The boba itself tastes like brown sugar milky jellies, but the ice cream as a whole tastes like coffee. I know on the box it says that its Brown Sugar, but entire treat tastes like coffee mocha. The boba was also rich in flavor and felt very chewy and sweet.

When I try Boba drinks from some restaurants, there are times when I don’t like the taste of Boba. But, in this ice cream I loved the taste of boba as it added the sweetness to the taste. Very unique ice cream which I will get again.

Only 3 Were Left

I picked up the 3rd box of the ice cream and the person behind me picked up the 2nd. So, after us there was only 1 left inside the box in the freezer.

If you come across this ice cream, I highly recommend trying as it’s something unique of its own. Boba mixed with the vanilla mocha tasting ice cream was very pleasingly combined.
