At Ralphs each Prime Energy Drink was on sale for $2.79 so I just had to try them. There are five flavors available and come in a small 12 oz size. As this are in a small size and have 200 mg of caffeine. I just wanted to mention that it is extremely too much caffeine for the size it comes in. For 12 oz size I think about 100 mg or less would be just fine.

Prime Energy Drinks Review

At Prime drinks website they are all sold out, however I found them in many stores such as The Vitamin Shoppe, GNC, and Ralphs. I think the drinks are pretty expensive and not really impressed with the quality of the ingredients used.

Caffeine

There is no source of caffeine mentioned at all. It doesn’t say if it’s from tea or if it’s from coffee. It also doesn’t say if they are organic, artificial, or where the beans are from. Nothing is mentioned about the quality of the caffeine where it is sourced from. This makes me doubt the drink and think that the coffee used may not be in good standards.

Fake Sugars

The fake sugars used in these cans are Sucralose and Acesulfame Potassium. This is enough for me to bypass the drink. However, little bit is okay as long as you don’t overdo it. If you are drinking this, I would suggest for you to make sure you are okay with the fake sugars. Many people have different reactions to fake sugars.

I trust the sucralose as that is not as damaging for the body. But I highly don’t trust Acesulfame Potassium. There are many health problems I been hearing from Acesulfame Potassium. Regardless of that, I think something like stevia would be a better source of sugar.

Preservatives

Oh gosh! I just don’t know why preservatives exist in the first place. With preservatives the foods and drinks last twice longer. I mean I don’t care if it lasts 6 months compared to 2 years. I would rather drink something that lasts for 6 months and has no preservatives than something with it that lasts longer.

No Food Color

By far, this is the best of all news coming from these drinks. No food color makes me say yes, yes and yes.

5 Flavors

  1. Strawberry Watermelon Feels very tropical as the strawberry brings in the sweetness and the watermelon make you feel like you are at an island.
  2. Blue Raspberry – tastes like frozen ice pops and extremely sweet.
  3. Lemon Lime – Tastes like Sierra Mist, 7up, or Sprite type of beverage.
  4. Tropical Punch – In a way I’m getting a Red Powerade taste with a hint of real fruits.
  5. Orange Mango – Gettings unsweet orange taste with sweet mango taste.

I’m loving as it has 5 flavors, so you are just never bored of them.

Not my Everyday Drink

What more can I say, too much caffeine and not enough health nutrients coming from these drinks. Therefore, I’m going to bypass it and only drink it sometimes. with 200 mg of caffeine in tiny 12 oz can, it’s almost as if you are drinking a shot of caffeine boost. I rather drink something in a bigger size can with less caffeine and feel healthier and more positive.

Not bad drinks at all, the tastes are wonderful. Nice energy too, but packs too much caffeine for me as I like to keep it under 160 mg. I recommend giving it a try as they taste delicious, and the gas seems little.

Original Flavor

I’m not sure why the original flavor came out later than the rest of the flavors but doesn’t really feel original to me. For one, it came out near the end of Halloween with ghost and spooky designs on it. For two, it doesn’t have the same ingredients as the rest of the other Prime Energy Drinks. It tastes like sweet lemon and ginger with ginger dominating the taste. For short, it has a miniature version of coke like taste but ginger taking in the control of the flavor.

Dream Pop

This Prime Dram Pop flavor tastes just like the ice cream and it’s so good just too bad the ingredients are kind of poor. It has a natural side of orange flavor along with strong vanilla cream like flavor. It’s kind of like a sherbet orange ice cream mixed with vanilla ice cream and it’s dream perfection for the summer.
