“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9 ESV

What I’m thinking is that why isn’t he there during the bad times to help us get through it? Well, maybe the answer is simple as he needs us to establish our own destiny, but he is guiding through the way to prepare us for something greater. Everything he is doing is possibly preparing us and we just need to know that he is watching us.

Similar phrase that it reminds me of:

  • “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” – Proverbs 16:9

It’s Hard

It’s hard to not be frightened because if it was the case then people just wouldn’t get frightened. It’s easy to say don’t get frightened, but during the fright moment, it’s as if nothing can be done to be not frightened. Even if you try to be strong and courageous, it’s almost as if it doesn’t work during some times.
I think this is the magic he has us in. By figuring out ways to not be scared, we find the inner spirit of us that believes in God. This is the magical way he expresses his love into us by testing us. For what purpose would life be if we had everything just given to us. Therefore, as hard as it is to not be frightened, it is the desire of life.

More importantly do not be dismayed. Yes, it’s hard to accept you are having a hard time. But accept it and move on try to overcome it as we are made for it. Also, he is planning us for greater things in life which is why he is putting us on the test to test our faith with fear. You can achieve all things if you Believe. God Bless!
