Jesus said: “When you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind. And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you.”
– Luke 14:13-14
This reminds me of the times when I exit the Freeway and people are at the exit and they are begging for money. Some of them have a sign that says they need food or have no job, while others are just asking for pocket change. I really carry no change as everything I do is with a credit card, but sometimes when I do have change, I just give it. Usually, I don’t like to give them change because I don’t want to touch them as they look dirty for most of the time. Anyway, if you come across this, be helpful and try to give them. I always think regardless if they have money or not, giving is a good sign from above.
I wish they had a bucket that said, “Coin Toss” on it, this way you can just throw without getting into contact. However, it’s better to give dollars instead of coins, because with a dollar you can prevent from touching them. Not that they are dirty or anything, but they make it seem like they are.
Why don’t they Collect Cans?
Another thought floating in my head is, why don’t they just collect cans? I mean, all they need to do is go from trash to trash and collect all the cans. This way they are not asking for money, and they are helping by recycling. Also, they could live in a city or county community home for free and they can recycle at the same time and save up a lot of money. Recycling is the number one approach I would do if I were in that situation. Best of all, you work at your own paste.
