Costco Food Court brings a new item and this time it’s Chicken and Bacon Sandwich. This sandwich replaces the Turkey Swiss Sandwich. What makes this new sandwich special is that it has Bacon Jam which is something new to try. I found it very good and I will get it again as it also tastes very healthy too. The price for the Chicken & Bacon Sandwich is $6.99 which is exactly the same as the Turkey Swiss. Currently, the world is in a stage where all prices are going up so knowing that this sandwich is the same price as previous is a relief from headache.

Costco Food Court Chicken & Bacon Sandwich

The sandwich is pretty okay in decent in size and feels bigger than a standard burger. It only has 920 calories, did I say only? This is almost half of the food intake some of us take in a daily basis. However, the ingredients look pretty healthy to me and tastes similar to homemade sandwich except for the bacon jam which feels unique and different.

Bacon Jam

Bacon Jam separates this sandwich from the rest. However, when eating the bacon flavor is almost silent and as if it’s not even there. When you eat the bacon jam separately on its own, you can taste the bacon but it’s low on flavor. The jam part kind of gives me a mixed berry type of flavor but low on the flavor. In a way, it almost tastes like sweet bacon with low touch of mixed berry.

It is very delicious and goes great on the sandwich. I highly suggest giving it a try. The bacon tastes baked and it’s tiny cut up pieces of it. I really think they should have used long pieces of bacon to fully deliver the bacon experience. At the same time, chopped up bacon is new and unique to me especially with the jam. Very well done with the bacon jam touch to the sandwich.

Contains

  • Sliced Oven Roasted Chicken Breast – Even though its oven roasted it doesn’t really taste oven roasted and just tastes regular sliced chicken.
  • Cheddar Cheese – Good amount of cheese.
  • Bacon Jam – Just perfect.
  • Mayo/Mustard Blend – The mustard taste comes and goes, and the mayo is just the right amount. Also, it mixes with the bacon jam just like a matching pair.
  • Lettuce – Feels just good looking at a big leaf in the sandwich.
  • Tomato – Two inside the sandwich.

The Bread

I contacted Costco and they told me that the bread is the Artisan Rolls which is bread they are using often. Artisan Roll Bread is a Ciabatta Roll Bread. Also, that it is not toasted and goes great on any sandwich. Perhaps, if it was a bit toasted and crunchy it would be great too.

What It Needs

Overall, the sandwich is perfect in every way, and it just needs two things: onions and pickles. I really think it’s lacking onions and maybe just two pickles would go great too.
