“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.” – 2 Corinthians 4:7-9 NIV
This kind of reminds me of the movie National Treasure by Nicolas Cage which it came out in 2004. I saw this movie in the movie theaters, and I just loved the entire movie from beginning to end. It is about finding treasure dating back when the United States was formed, and it is directed by Jon Turteltaub. If you haven’t seen this movie, I would highly suggest it as its very inspiring and successful film.
Film VS Corinthians
What this movie reminds me of this phrase is that the treasure in jars of clay is like a code to me. Like what exactly is it referring to and it’s something we all may have a different opinion to as we all think differently. Also, how everything is just reflected to one another in life just like the move makes me wonder what we haven’t discovered yet. Is there really something missing that we haven’t discovered? Are there clues leading us to something, but we just can’t figure it out?
This Corinthians phrase also gives me the vide like its poetry. Besides poetry, like a secret meaning to something that we need to think deeper about. I’m not sure what it is, but it’s like a message that is just meant to be read and not ignored.
Possibly it is saying we all have a treasure inside of us that connects us all together. We all contribute out treasure towards our mission in life which bonds us to where we need to be.
