Every now and then you just have the Mochi cravings and Trader Joe’s just has many Mochi Ice Creams to satisfy. From rare to new to classic there just is many flavors that come and go. However, I’ve noticed that all of them just taste amazing regardless of the flavor. On top of that, great quality as expected from Trader Joe’s in great prices as well. Well, there just is one downfall I have found in this ice creams and that is just the size. As small as they are, you just want to keep eating them none stop. Sometimes I wonder that being small is perhaps what makes them good so just keep eating one by one is exactly what I do.
Trader Joe’s Black Sesame Mochi
This one here is one of those rare flavors that you see them for short time because everyone buys them quickly. Well, if you are just wondering what exactly it tastes like? In short, just tastes like cooked peanuts and so fresh on the taste. It starts off with soy taste on the skin and as you go in the middle the peanut flavors burst. Basically, you get soy and cooked peanut flavors from this Trader Joe’s Black Sesame Mochi Ice Cream.
The price is $4.99, and it comes in 7.61 oz in weight which is a bit more than the other Mochis. Kind of feels like you mixed peanut butter and ice cream together. However, it has the burned taste as well kind of like burned peanuts in a way. It is just 80 calories for 1 piece and comes with 6 in the box.
Everyone was getting this flavor which is why there almost was nothing left. Luckly, there was 3 left and I got 1 so others could try the last 2 as well. If you come across this, give it a try as it delivers smooth peanut flavors. Perhaps, dipping in some whisky would be a great idea. It kind of reminds me of the Elvis Presley Ice Cream because of the nutty flavors.
