I picked up this Pots & Co Finest Belgian Chocolate Molten Lava Cake from Costco for the price of $12.99. It comes in a box of 6 inside which they are glass containers and plastic lid. I like that it is in glass container because you can use it for other foods as well. This was one of those random finds at Costco and as it’s chocolate I just had to give it a try. I sure would buy this again because they satisfy the chocolate cravings.
Pots & Co Molten Lava Cake from Costco
You can eat this cold or hot which both versions gave me different flavors. It comes with instructions in the back to heat it up depending on whatever version you choose. For me, I choose oven which the instructions are preheat to 350°F and cook for 8-10 minutes. I did it for 7 minutes which I really think 1-2 minutes would have done it just fine.
- Served Cold – When it is served cold it delivers a fine chocolate flavor that is aiming towards dark chocolate. When it is cold, it’s kind of hard to separate the brownie-like texture from the chocolate as both are solid cold.
- Served Warm – Tastes more like milky chocolate and much sweeter. Also, you can feel the two different textures going on between brownie-like texture and melted chocolate.
Which is Better
I prefer the cold version because I like the dark chocolate taste along with the fine taste. If I decide to eat warm, I just warm it very low and enough to get it melt. I found that delivers the best warm taste rather than heating it for 8-10 minutes.
Too High on Calories
I found only one downfall on these chocolates and that is that they are high on calories. Each glass is 380 calories for a tiny amount of chocolate. Almost feels like you ate an entire cake just in 4-6 tiny scoops. I wish it was double the size for less calories so I could eat and enjoy more of the fine chocolate taste.
