At last, something new, interesting, and just out of the blue from El Pollo Loco. It is Mango Habanero Chicken and you can get it with any meal or chicken choices. At the same time there is Mango Habanero Sauce on the side which is just 0.99 cents. With the Mango Habanero Sauce on the side you can try it with your preferred amount of sauce to the chicken. Well, this is available limited time, and it starts on January 30th, 2025.
El Pollo Loco Mango Habanero Chicken
This is one saucy chicken and I love just the way it is sauced with pepper ingredients all around the chicken. Once you hold on to it you can just get the sauce everywhere on your fingers and with the first bite you can tell just how saucy it is with the sauce bursting out of the chicken. Absolutely very well sauced here that feels like you dumped the entire chicken in the sauce.
Very Fiery
For once an Mango Habanero Sauce that is packed with fiery heat and delivers real spice flavor. It tastes very homemade and natural tone of flavors of mango and the pepper. Very well done with this sauce by El Pollo Loco. However, it’s just not my style of sauce and I prefer the original method over this saucy method. Well, it sure was a great try for me as I just try everything new that comes out.
Also, I found it not mixing well with the side dishes such as the pinto beans and rice. It’s sure good on its own with its tropical side of flavors. Just to mention that it just goes so smooth with the new Monster Ultra Blue Hawaiian Energy Drink.
Sauce Smell
Wanted to add that the sauce smell sticks to your fingers and doesn’t really go away even when you wash it. The smell sticks around for long time.
Pretty saucy flavor but Mango Habanero just hasn’t been my preferred choices of sauces when it comes to chicken. I would prefer something like buffalo or garlic. Perhaps BBQ Sauce would have been more suiting to me as I love the honey side of BBQ Sauce flavors. Well, hopefully something else comes out sooner or later, till then this is interesting tropical twist of flavors.
