As surely as the Lord your God lives, she replied, “I don’t have any bread—only a handful of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it—and die.” – 1 Kings 17:12 NIV
Oh Wow! If this was a poem this would be just one of my favorite poems. I feel like this is a curse and almost feels like she is cursing God or talking back to him.
I don’t know what to say except for that I feel like she is talking to Jesus. Telling him that she doesn’t need his bread because she has hers. And that she is going to die anyway, and she will die the way she wants to. In a way saying that she doesn’t care who he is or where he came from that she is doing as she wishes. Of course, I’m probably wrong as this is just a portion from the Kings verse, but if I were to read the whole verse than I’m sure it would make more sense. But without reading the whole script this feels very evil and a curse.
Hocus Pocus 2
Talking about a curse, today (6/29/2022) Disney came up with the new trailer for Hocus Pocus 2. As Hocus Pocus is one of my favorite films of all time, I just can’t wait for this to come to Disney+. Anyway, what I wanted to address is that the point of Hocus Pocus 2 is a curse the girls do which I believe brings back the witches. I’m a bit confused if it’s going to be a show or a movie, but it should be a movie. Also, some of the same actresses from the original film are going to be back for the 2nd time. 🙂
