When we heard this, we and the people there pleaded with Paul not to go up to Jerusalem. Then Paul answered, “Why are you weeping and breaking my heart? I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.” When he would not be dissuaded, we gave up and said, “The Lord’s will be done.” – Acts 21:12-14 NIV

I’m not sure exactly what is taking effect during the time this passage was said over 2 thousand years ago. But I almost feel like I am there and listening to them.

“The Lord’s will be Done”

I think this is referring to whatever the Lord has planned it is what will happen. Moreover, it is the Lords plan that will be done and not anyone else. I think it could be possibly leading that if anyone had a different plan, that it will not take place. It is only the Lords that will stand aside and rule over all.

Also, it got me thinking what dissuaded means? Which it means to not take any specific actions.

It kind of makes me wonder just how life was back over 2 thousand years ago? I mean living the life back then with no cars or the stuff we have now is very complicated. What about Bathrooms? how did people clean themselves or take showers? All of this stuff is going on in my mind as I read this Acts Phrase.
To think about it now, I find life super hard and almost feels impossible compared to what we have now. Just the fact that we could open the sink water to wash our hands is something that couldn’t have been done during those times. As far as we have achieved in life, we also have multiplied. For example, the time Jesus came, there was probably 95% less people on Earth than now.
