At the end of January, McDonald’s announced their Menu Hack menu. This menu consists of 4 hacked sandwiches that are so popular that McDonald’s made it part of their menu for this promotion. The menu hacks are:

  • Hash Brown McMuffin
  • Crunchy Double
  • Land, Air & Sea
  • Surf + Turf (App exclusive)

You can purchase these hacks just by saying the name. Except for Surf + Turf which is only available on the App. These hacks are make it yourself style which means they don’t give you the food hacked, you got to hack it. Anyway, some of these hacks are a bit out of this world, so I’ll start with the breakfast one first.

Hash Brown McMuffin 

This one I don’t even want to consider this a hack. This is almost like common sense and the I been doing this as a kid, just I wasn’t aware that it’s considered a hack. Anway, I do this my style which is adding 50-60% of the hash brown that way I have something to eat on the side too. If you haven’t tried this, I highly suggest it as they mix just perfect together. Land, Air & Sea

I don’t even know where to begin, this one just drove me nuts. There are bunch of flavors taking effect and all at random times. I would absolutely never get this again and the name clearly makes sense. It’s as if you are flying in the sky, doing tricks with a jet, or you are on a sea with a boat and you’re getting seasick, then you get on land and vomit. Surf + Turf 

If the Land, Air & Sea was not misconfigured enough, this is just as misconfigured. It really doesn’t make any logical sense combining fish with beef. As eating this I only craved the sandwiches individually and keeping it that way. Not something I would do again, but happy that I tried it. The taste is either fish or beef, it’s as if which ever goes in first, is the one that dominates the taste. Crunchy Double  

This one I’m going to give it a Pass. It’s only chicken and beef which of course is not the best combination, but its eatable. It kind of felt good eating this and its okay, but again I won’t get this again only because I think they are not really meant to be mixed together. I would prefer to mix the McNuggets with a chicken sandwich rather than beef burger. Read More.

Summary

This Menu Hack drove me nuts and I really found none of them making sense except for the Hash Brown one. I don’t think even Aliens would eat some of these hacks and I sure won’t get them again. I also want to Thank McDonald’s for putting these hacks as part of their menu because something interesting and beyond extraordinary to try.

As McDonald’s says, “This isn’t our menu, it’s yours.” This makes me feel to say CHEERS and can’t wait to try more hacks.
