As I came across this Guru Tropical Punch Energy Drink from Costco, I just had to try it since we are at Summer. It is my first energy beverage from Guru and I sure am very pleased with it. However, there is one thing that keeps bothering me and that is that it has organic cane sugar. It just is that when sugar and sparkling water are mixed together it gives me trust issues just to how damaging it can be to the bones.

Guayusa Tropical Punch Organic Energy

The price at Costco is just unbeatable costing at $16.49 for a pack of 12 and they are 12oz size. At Guru Energy site it is listed for $62.99 for a pack of 24 which is near 50% more expensive compared to the Costco Wholesale price.

Taste 

Wow! The taste is just superior and you can taste a hint of every fruit on the box. Just to mention that the drink has a very smooth feeling when you drink that makes it appear relaxing and energizing at the same time. Beyond that, it just feels good as the taste is very delicious. A hint of pineapple, passionfruit, guava and a tropical feeling that makes it seem like you are by the ocean every sip that you take. Very well done here with the taste as it is just very good.

3 Sugars:

  • organic cane sugar
  • organic monk fruit juice concentrate
  • organic stevia leaf extract

I’m not sure what’s going on here with 3 sugars but I’m happy with all except for the organic cane sugar.

Caffeine: 

  • organic green tea
  • guayusa

Very satisfied with the caffeine source as they are rich in antioxidants as well. It has 142mg of caffeine which to me that is on the safe side. As long as it doesn’t pass 160, I am just happy with it.

Coloring:

I’ve noticed there is no coloring in the ingredients which that tells me all the colors are naturally occurring from the juices used. That is a good feeling that at least no food color is added to it.

Overall 

Everything is perfect about this drink and I’m giving it 4 stars. Why not 5? Well, because one thing that bothers me is the cane sugar used in this can. If it didn’t have can sugar it would be less calories and less worries. Other than that, this would have been a more daily drink to me if it just didn’t have the cane sugar. I highly recommend giving this Guru Tropical Punch a try as it takes you to an island by the beach. Very Summer Flavor that is very refreshing as well.

Costco Guru Variety Pack

This time around it came with two flavors Fruit Punch and Tropical punch. The Fruit Punch as 100mg Caffeine. Great price at Costco and two of each, making it just perfect deal. The Fruit Punch as a more cherry side of flavor along with raspberries and just as smooth.
