Wow! Pretty impressed with this KFC Double Down Chicken Sandwich as it has no buns. It comes with bacon, tomato, and cheese in the middle of two chickens. I thought this was going to be a pretty small sandwich as it’s called Double Down. In my mind I’m thinking of shot downers, so I supposed they were going to be small. However, they are same size as an average chicken sandwich you would normally get.

As biting into this award-winning chicken, you could really feel the crispiness of it. It is hand breaded and fried in a pretty massive size.

in the middle of two super delicious chickens that act like the king putting the buns aside.

More, More, and More… 

I think it needs, 3-5 hickory bacons instead of 2, Why? Because every bite should be delivered with a bacon bite as the bacon overpowers the taste. It needs way more cheese so there are no empty spots on the chicken. The mayo part is fine, I think it has good enough mayo. Just to add that it would be nice if it had tomatoes and lettuce. Back of my mind I was thinking of a tomato and lettuce while eating it.

2 Versions 

There are two versions of this sandwich available. The regular version and the spicy version. The difference is that the spicy version has spicy mayo while the regular version has Colonel’s mayo. I tried both and the spicy mayo isn’t really as spicy as it says spicy on it. Should be double spicier to feel the spiciness.

Overall

The price is $9.99 just for the sandwich and $13.99 for the combo which comes with 1 side along with medium drink. The taste is delicious, but it feels kind of basic in the way. I think tomatoes and lettuce would fix that basicness. At the same time, as the chicken size is unique and unusual, this is one great sandwich to give it a try. This was a bit small for me, but with more sides and chickens I got was just super amazing meal to enjoy.

Just to mention this comes once every 10 years, I suggest giving it a try now, so you won’t wait another 10.
